Black silicon carbide powder-Black SIC

    Product Details

Silicon carbide is produced by high-temperature smelting of raw materials such as quartz sand, petroleum coke (or coal coke), and sawdust in a resistance furnace. The product is hexagonal crystal with a specific gravity of 3.20-3.25 and a microhardness of 2840-3320kg/mm2.

Silicon carbide has two commonly used basic varieties, black silicon carbide and green silicon carbide, both of which belong to α- SiC.

    1. Black silicon carbide contains about 98.5% SiC, and its toughness is higher than that of green silicon carbide. It is mostly used for processing materials with low tensile strength, such as glass, ceramics, stone, refractory materials, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals.

    2. Green silicon carbide contains over 99% SiC and has good self sharpening properties. It is mostly used for processing hard alloys, titanium alloys, and optical glass, as well as for honing cylinder sleeves and precision grinding high-speed steel cutting tools.

Shandong Huayi Tech Co., Ltd manufactures Black Silicon Carbide powders by water classification at our factory in YANTAI, CHINA . All chemistry and sizing is controlled to meet exact customer requirements. Black silicon carbide powder is produced using core patented technology, with a concentrated and uniform particle size distribution in the product.

All Black Silicon Carbide manufactured at Shandong Huayi Tech Co., Ltd meets or exceeds ANSI and JIS or FEPA standards for product quality.
Black silicon carbide (SiC) is a material with many excellent properties like high hardness and wear resistance, low specific density, an outstanding chemical inertness even at elevated temperatures, high thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion and good shock resistance.
